The interview / L'Entretien, 2009
Ed. Paraguay Press, Paris. Ed: 500. 112 pp. 16,5 x 24 cm
Texts: English/French. Price: 12 €
A play for 2 actors in 6 scenes, written by Guillaume Leblon and Thomas Boutoux. It stages the ongoing conversation between an artist and a critic that begins when the former commissions a text from the latter. Their dialog develops into a dramatic series of misunderstandings, agreements and discord about writing, art-making and publishing, but also about Egyptian sepulture, drinking in the afternoon, artistic paranoia, the uses of time, the artist as Average Joe or institutional critique, as The Interview follows their desperate attempt to write a new Tristram Shandy.

The publication in German and English demonstrates what it is that actually distinguishes Guillaume Leblon`s work: a balanced ambivalence and the question regarding the correlation between the inside and outside, surface and volume, form and content.

The ensemble plays on the exhibition place and with the relationships of unity and multiplicity inherent to the notion of a work.
